I Think We're Ready

Found this draft written on March 5, 2014.

We are ready to move away from Boston...

Here's a bit of a back story... in the spring of 2011, I was ready for something different. At the time I was single and I felt like I needed to get away from Boston. I booked a trip to visit friends in San Diego that July. I was planning on moving out to San Diego in the spring of 2012 and wanted to get a feel for it.

Then I met my husband that same July and all my plans went out the window. We met and married in the span of one year. It was the best decision we ever made. We've been together for almost three years and married for almost two of those years. It was always our intention to eventually move somewhere warmer. For those of you not acquainted with the bitter cold of New England, you're very lucky. Winter last for eight months and you'll be glad if you got at least two weeks of spring and fall. Summer is awesome, but it doesn't last long.

Don't get me wrong. I love Boston. When I was in 7th grade, I told myself that I would eventually go to school there and I did. I lived in Boston for five year then moved out to the MetroWest area for the next two for work. Then I met my husband and we moved to a city south of Boston. We've been living here for a little over two years. It's the first place in nine years that I've lived in for longer than a year and a half.

Lately, we've been itching to get away from the cold. Why not live somewhere nice year round? What were we waiting for? A sign? I think there's been more than plenty pointing us in the westward direction.
